DeepState: Occupiers advanced in the Kursk region, putting pressure on Lyman

Russian armed forces continue their offensive in the Kursk region, forcing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to retreat at the bridgehead near the border with the Sumy region. According to the report by DeepState analysts, the previously unified bridgehead has decreased by 30% and split into two parts. Additionally, the enemy has made gains in the Lyman direction and near Toretsk.

The Russian advance in the Kursk region and the situation in other critical areas is discussed in a post from the DeepState project’s Telegram channel.

On the evening of April 12, analysts reported the advancement of Russian forces in the Kursk region. The map indicated that by that date, the Ukrainian bridgehead covered an area of 55.62 sq. km, stretching continuously from the road to Sudzha to the village of Hornal and the Psel River. Now, as shown by DeepState, Russian troops have advanced in the fields between the villages of Oleshny and Guyevo, reaching the border with the Sumy region. The approximate area of the Ukrainian bridgehead has decreased by over 30%: the northern part now covers 10.74 sq. km, while the southern part covers 26.25 sq. km, as indicated on the updated map.

Analysts also reported the advancement of Russian forces on two other frontlines.

Lyman direction. The enemy has made gains near the settlement of Yampilivka, as noted in the DeepState post. The combat map shows that the Russians have pushed the front line 300 meters forward, but the gray combat zone has expanded over 2 kilometers.

Toretsk direction. According to analysts’ data, Russian forces have bent the line of combat southwest of Valentynivka—a settlement southwest of Toretsk. Russians have advanced 1.5 km, as shown on the DeepState map.
