Cannes Film Festival presents three films about the war in Ukraine


At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, a special screening of three films dedicated to the war in Ukraine will take place.

This is reported by the State Film Agency of Ukraine.

"Today, on May 13, on the opening day of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, a special screening of three films dedicated to the war in Ukraine will take place. This ’Ukraine Day’ aims to remind everyone of the dedication of artists, authors, and journalists who cover the conflict at the heart of Europe, which has been ongoing for three years," the announcement states.

During the festival, a documentary story about Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s journey from actor to president during the war will be shown - Zelenskyy. Authors: Yves Joland, Lisa Vapne, and Ariane Chemin (France, 2025, duration — 2 hours 15 minutes).

Additionally, a new film from the fronts of Pokrovsk and Sumy, where Ukrainians and French volunteers fight side by side, will be shown - Notre Guerre ("Our War"). Directors Bernard-Henri Lévy and Marc Roussel (France–Ukraine, 2025, duration — 1 hour 18 minutes).

A new work by Mstyslav Chernov about the war in the Donetsk region will also be presented - "2000 Meters to Avdiivka".
