A military officer from Odesa was helping employees of one of the local car service stations avoid mobilization to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for money. However, law enforcement officers exposed him, nearly leading to his imprisonment.
The military officer from Odesa, who had the authority to verify documents, made an agreement with the owners of the service station that for 1000 dollars he would help "settle issues" with the TRC. For money, he regularly provided the car dealership management with information about mobilization measures, thanks to which the businessmen would timely close it, helping employees avoid being drafted into the Armed Forces. Nevertheless, he was caught red-handed, and a criminal case was opened. During the trial, the suspect admitted his guilt.
He was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 114-1, and Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces, accepting a promise of receiving an undue benefit by prior conspiracy of persons). However, the court released him from the punishment of 5 years of imprisonment, provided that he does not commit a new criminal offense within 3 years.
