The European Commission expects some Ukrainians to return to their homeland as early as 2025

Despite the absence of a lasting peace, the European Commission predicts that Ukrainians will begin gradually returning home as early as 2025.

This is stated in the new EC report.

According to the baseline scenario, the number of Ukrainian refugees in EU countries, which was 4.3 million at the beginning of the year, will decrease to 4.1 million by the end of 2025, and to 3.8 million by the end of 2026.

Brussels emphasizes that such estimates are based on current trends and the gradual stabilization of the situation, despite the lack of signs of a full-fledged peace.
