On the night of June 1st to 2nd, the regions of Lipetsk, Rostov, Kursk, Ryazan, Voronezh, and Yaroslavl, as well as the area near Moscow, came under drone attacks.
This was reported by Russian media and Telegram channels.
Kursk Region
Late on June 1st, explosions were heard in Kursk, and black smoke was seen over the city. According to local residents, at least five powerful explosions occurred as a result of a drone attack. Allegedly, air defense systems were activated, causing debris to fall in the city and starting fires. Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein claimed that all drones were allegedly shot down.
Voronezh
Around 11:00 PM, a series of explosions was heard in the northern part of Voronezh. Local residents reported bright flashes and loud noises. Preliminary data suggests that drones flew in from the direction of the village of Latnoye. Official information on damages is not confirmed, but there are reports of explosions in the Borisoglebsk airfield area.
Lipetsk Region
About 10 explosions were recorded in Lipetsk and the region. The area of the Novolipetsk Steel Plant, one of the key industrial sites in the region, was hit. According to eyewitnesses, the drones attacked from the direction of Yelets.
Ryazan
At least eight explosions were heard over Ryazan during the night. The drones allegedly flew in from the direction of Miloslavskoye, with air defence systems attempting to intercept them. Explosions were recorded in the Moscow district of the city.
Moscow Suburbs
Around 12:42 AM in the Troparevo area, near Moscow, residents heard a series of explosions and saw drones in the sky. Official sources did not comment on the situation.
Yaroslavl
On June 1st, around 8:15 PM, local residents reported two explosions in the Bragino area. There were also reported issues with mobile communications and internet. Air defence systems attempted to intercept the drones.
Voronezh Region
In the Voronezh region, during the night drone attack, the target was likely the military airfield in Borisoglebsk.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, by 2:00 AM, Russian air defence forces allegedly destroyed 162 Ukrainian drones over nine regions: Kursk Region - 57 UAVs, Belgorod Region - 31 UAVs, Lipetsk Region - 27 UAVs, Voronezh Region - 16 UAVs, Bryansk Region - 11 UAVs, Ryazan Region - 11 UAVs, Oryol Region - six UAVs, Republic of Crimea - two UAVs, Tambov Region - one UAV.
