While performing a combat mission in the Pokrovsk direction, servicewoman of the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, FPV drone operator Kateryna "Myau" Troyan, was killed.
This was reported in a post by Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratyuk on Facebook.
"Just a week ago, at the photo exhibition ’Women Defending Ukraine’ together with Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and colleagues, we were telling members of the British Parliament about the heroism of the military member of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, FPV drone operator Kateryna Troyan - ’Myau,’ who had over a thousand successful flights. And today, I learned about her death during a combat mission," noted Kondratiuk.
According to Kondratyuk, Kateryna decided to serve in the Air Assault Forces at the age of 32.
"She survived Kursk but did not survive the Pokrovsk direction," wrote the deputy speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
Kondratyuk informed that a meeting was being prepared to help Kateryna with a vehicle, as her previous one had been destroyed.
The death of Kateryna was also reported on Facebook by serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ihor Lutsenko: "Yesterday, we received news that M., the FPV operator with blue hair from our Podilsk community, had died. She served in the Air Assault Forces, survived the Kursk campaign, but this time did not survive the Pokrovsk direction - she was brought to Mechnikov still alive, but couldn’t be saved."
