Bodies of 1212 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine, - Coordination Headquarters


As a result of the conducted repatriation measures, the bodies of 1,212 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine.

This is reported by the press center of the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war.

It is noted that among the defenders returned "with honor" were those fallen from:

Kursk region;  Kharkiv region;  Luhansk region;  Donetsk region;  Zaporizhzhya region;  Kherson region.

"The return of the fallen defenders was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of the staff of the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war, the Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons Under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other structures in the security and defence sector of Ukraine. We express our gratitude for the assistance to the International Committee of the Red Cross," the statement reads.

Special thanks to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who transport the repatriated fallen Heroes to designated state specialized institutions, organize the transfer of the deceased to representatives of law enforcement agencies in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system and forensic examination in the Ministry of Health system.

Law enforcement investigators, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will establish the identities of the deceased in the shortest possible time.
