The Appeal Chamber of the HACC upheld Komarnytskyi’s in absentia arrest


The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) upheld the decision on in absentia detention of former Kyiv City Council deputy and well-known businessman Denys Komarnytskyi.

According to reports, this decision is key for conducting an in absentia pre-trial investigation, as well as for the potential extradition of Komarnytskyi to Ukraine.

Denys Komarnytskyi, who is named as one of the figures in large-scale land seizure schemes in Kyiv, is on the wanted list. Previously, journalists have reported his whereabouts abroad, particularly in Vienna. He is a suspect in a case related to organizing a criminal group for the illegal alienation of land plots in the capital.
