Representatives of the military expressed their support for the leader of the band "Antytila" and former volunteer of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Taras Topolya, who was criticized by Member of Parliament Maryana Bezuhla for what she called a "fake" mobilization.
The deputy commander of the 241st separate brigade of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and head of the NGO "Veterans 241" Oleksiy Fandetskyi shared on his Facebook page that he met Taras Topolya during combat operations in the Kharkiv region in the summer of 2022. According to him, the musician was engaged in medical evacuation.
"In June 2022, I participated in the battles for Dementiivka in the Kharkiv region. It was a real test. Those who were present will confirm. Taras Topolya and the guys from ’Antytila’ were involved in medevac," wrote the serviceman.
He noted that the band members saved many lives.
"I will not call on Ms. Maryana to reflect. Everyone must draw conclusions for themselves," emphasized Oleksiy Fandetskyi.
In the comments under Maryana Bezuhla’s post on Facebook, user Oleksandr Dovhyi, who indicated in his profile that he is a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, also spoke out. He also mentioned that he served with Topolia in 2022, and the musician helped him evacuate the wounded from under fire.
"Thanks to his decisive actions, many lives were saved then. And if someone considers such service ’fake,’ let it remain on the conscience of the one who says so," wrote Oleksandr.
