In the Russian Federation, law enforcement agencies have begun detaining representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
According to Russian media, in Voronezh, Yusif Khalilov, the co-owner of the largest Alekseevsky market in the region and an influential representative of the local Azerbaijani community, was detained.
In addition, it became known about the arrest of the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Urals, Shahin Shikhlinskiy.
The reasons for the detentions have not been officially announced; however, the events have caused a resonance against the backdrop of the recent escalation in relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.
