Zelenskyy: Patriot air defence systems for Ukraine will be paid for by Germany and Norway

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, confirmed that the supply of Patriot air defense systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be financed by European partners.

He stated this in his evening address on July 14.

«I am grateful to our team, thankful to the United States, Germany, and Norway for preparing a new decision regarding Patriot for Ukraine», – said Zelenskyy.

Earlier, the president had reported that Germany is ready to pay for two systems, and Norway – for one. Meanwhile, the U.S. President Donald Trump had announced preparations for sending 17 Patriots.

Zelenskyy did not specify whether this is only about Patriot systems or also other types of weapons. In his address, he mentioned only that Ukraine is working on «major defense agreements» with the USA, but currently cannot disclose details.
