The Kremlin has stated that they do not currently see the possibility of a meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine before the end of August.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Russian president, Dmitriy Peskov, according to the Russian press.
“Such a meeting should put a final point in the settlement of the conflict and fix the already reached agreements,” Peskov noted.
According to him, the approaches of Moscow and Kyiv are currently “diametrically opposed,” and therefore their rapprochement requires “extremely complex diplomatic work.”
“Is it possible to undergo this most difficult process in 30 days? It is obvious that it is unlikely,” the Kremlin spokesperson added.
Thus, despite media speculation about possible negotiations, Moscow continues to insist on its terms and does not show readiness for a swift diplomatic breakthrough.
