Zelenskyy agreed on a common position regarding the end of the war with Macron and Starmer

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation on August 9 with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron. The head of state noted that he had aligned his position on ending the war with the head of the UK government and the French president.

The president also expressed gratitude to Starmer and Macron for their support. Zelenskyy reported this on his Telegram channel.

According to Zelenskyy, he and the British Prime Minister recognize the necessity of a truly sustainable peace for Ukraine and the danger of the Russian plan to reduce everything to the discussion of the impossible.

The Ukrainian president emphasized that Kyiv values the determination of the United Kingdom and other partners to end the war. Meanwhile, all parties continue working towards constructive diplomacy.

"Clear steps are needed, the maximum of our coordination with partners. We appreciate the determination of the United Kingdom, the United States, and all partners to end the war. We actively work for constructive diplomacy and to ensure that solutions can be implemented. Agreed on the next contacts," said the president.

Zelenskyy also spoke with French President Macron. The heads of state exchanged views on the diplomatic situation. Zelenskyy emphasized that all partners are ready to work as productively as possible to achieve a real result, preventing new deceptions from the Russians.
