Employees of the SBI have charged the head of the Kyiv City State Administration’s office and the former head of one of the municipal enterprises in the capital with the embezzlement of over 1 million hryvnias.
It is noted that the suspects ordered and paid for the facade arrangement and other repair work in the city’s office building, which belonged to private individuals.
The repairs cost almost 1.3 million hryvnias. At the same time, the municipal enterprise did not even have rental agreements for the renovated premises, meaning that budget funds were actually spent on work in a private building.
The actions of the former and current officials are qualified as embezzlement of property through abuse of office, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons in especially large amounts. They face imprisonment of up to twelve years with confiscation of property.
