President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has conferred the military rank of Lieutenant General to the Chief of the General Staff, Andriy Hnatov.
The corresponding decree has been published on the website of the Office of the President.
The head of state also awarded the following new ranks:
Brigadier General to the Deputy Commander of the Airborne Assault Troops, Colonel Andriy Tkachuk; Major General to the First Deputy Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Brigadier General Oleh Luhovskyi; Brigadier General to the Commander of the 16th Army Corps of the Northern Operational Command of the Ground Forces, Colonel Yevheniy Kurash; Brigadier General to the Commander of the 21st Army Corps of the Northern Operational Command of the Ground Forces, Colonel Valeriy Kurach; Major General to the Deputy Commander of the Air Force, Brigadier General Serhiy Holubtsov; Major General to the Head of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service, Brigadier General Oleksandr Ptytsia; Police General of the Third Rank to the Police Colonel, Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Oleksandr Handzha; Major General of the Civil Protection Service to the Civil Protection Service Colonel, Head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv Region, Artem Astakhov; Brigadier General to the First Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions, Colonel Oleh Voyevodin.
