Kyiv has warned Poland about a possible reaction to the ban on red and black symbols

Kyiv has warned Poland about a potential reaction if the country’s Sejm bans the red and black symbolism.

This was stated by a diplomatic source, responding to the initiatives announced by Nawrocki.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced on Monday, August 25, a legislative initiative that would equate the "Bandera symbol" with Nazi and communist symbols in Poland’s Criminal Code.

"We are analyzing the legal implications of the adopted decisions and their possible impact on the situation of Ukrainian citizens in Poland," said the diplomatic source.

According to him, Kyiv is grateful to the official Warsaw for all previous decisions in favor of our compatriots and believes that their rights will be ensured no worse than in other European Union countries.

"At the same time, any politicized decisions supposedly equating Ukrainian symbols with Nazi and communist ones can provoke increased negative sentiments in Ukrainian society and will require a response from the Ukrainian side," they emphasized.
