DIU: Russia simulates negotiations to misinform Ukraine and partners

Russia is engaging in simulating negotiations to end the war in order to misinform the Ukrainian society and Ukraine’s international partners.

This opinion was expressed by the representative of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov.

He noted that official representatives of the Russian Federation are doing everything possible to disrupt peace talks, so that they can then blame Ukraine for it.

"The aggressor state and its representatives are trying to dodge, as they say. That is, often presenting desires as reality, imitating a desire for negotiations, or shifting all the responsibility to Ukraine, like, look how incapable of making agreements they are," said Yusov.

As explained by the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, this game is part of a disinformation strategy aimed at the Ukrainian population and allies, but they understand who the real aggressor in the war is.
