Kupyansk is closed to services: a counter-sabotage operation is ongoing in the city

The situation in the city of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, is critical. The city is completely closed to any services. A counter-sabotage operation is ongoing there.

The head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, Andriy Besedin, spoke about this during a broadcast on "Suspiline".

"Kupyansk is a closed territory, the city is completely closed to any services," he reported.

As Besedin notes, only the military can enter the city at the moment, so evacuation is extremely difficult.

"The only way to leave now is to walk out of Kupyansk’s territory. There, our services—volunteers, the State Emergency Service, and the police—will pick you up and take you to a safer place. Alternatively, you can turn to the military, and they will definitely help," Besedin adds.

According to Besedin, about 680 people remain in the right-bank part of Kupiansk, and over 1,600 in the community as a whole.  The city lacks electricity, water, and gas supply.

Besedin urges local residents to leave, as the situation has reached a critical point.

Currently, a counter-sabotage operation is underway in Kupyansk. "Special units are combing every centimeter of the city, every house, every entrance, every basement—and they are striking the enemy, driving the enemy out to prevent them from establishing a foothold," the head of the Military Administration emphasizes.
