Slovyansk came under heavy shelling from Russian forces. Two educational institutions were targeted: a school on Vokzalna Street and an energy college on Uchytelska Street. The attacks resulted in numerous secondary explosions caused by the detonation of ammunition stored on these premises.
Both educational institutions suffered significant destruction. In the college, the explosions damaged building structures and led to local fires.
According to preliminary data, up to 9 people were killed as a result of the shelling, and about 12 others were injured. The exact number of casualties is being clarified.
Local authorities are warning of possible danger due to unexploded ordnance at the scene. Residents of nearby areas are advised to refrain from approaching these sites.
The city military administration of Slovyansk is responding promptly to the situation by organizing rescue operations and providing assistance to the affected. An assessment of the damage is also being conducted, and measures are being developed to restore the normal functioning of the city.
