Romanian far-right MEP Diana Sosoaca boasted that in 2023 she prevented Volodymyr Zelenskyy from speaking in the Romanian parliament and promised that next time she would "break his legs."
This was stated in a press release by Sosoaca.
The Romanian MEP made threats against Zelenskyy during a meeting with participants of the International Association "Friends of Russia," led by Putinophile Pietro Stramezzi, in Moscow.
Sosoaca attended the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the propaganda channel RT, where Vladimir Putin also spoke.
During the meeting, Sosoaca recalled the "tense events" in Romania during Zelenskyy’s visit in October 2023, particularly how she "managed to stop" his speech in parliament.
"If he dares to come to my parliament, I will break his legs! Let him not dare to deliver a speech in my parliament. Why do I say ’my parliament’? Because the Constitution of Romania states that we, the parliamentarians, are the representatives of the Romanian people, the only ones who can represent the sovereignty of the Romanian people," – she said.
The controversial deputy also repeated the myth about "over a million Romanians" living in Ukraine who are "not allowed to speak Romanian, not allowed to pray, and are forbidden from practicing Orthodoxy."
"The meeting ended with applause, and the young participants appreciated the strength of the speech, the clarity of the arguments, and the depth of the Christian and nationalist message conveyed by the Romanian MEP," – Sosoaca praised herself at the end.
Diana Sosoaca is known for numerous scandalous statements and actions. In her homeland, the Romanian MEP is under investigation for 11 crimes, including – promoting the "cult of war crimes" and Holocaust denial.
