The occupied Simferopol plant "Fiolent" produces aircraft parts for Russian planes

Russia uses occupied Crimea for the production of aircraft parts. The Simferopol plant "Fiolent" manufactures key components for Russian civilian aircraft, including the Sukhoi Superjet New (SJ-100), Tu-214, and MC-21.

This was reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The office’s statement noted that enterprises in the temporarily occupied territory are actively involved in the so-called import substitution program, which aims to replace foreign parts in Russian industry.

"The Simferopol plant ’Fiolent’ supplies critically important parts – transformers for onboard equipment, generators, engines, and precision electric machines," the statement reads.

According to the office, the plant’s products are used as substitutes for components from the Japanese company Tamagawa, which were previously installed in control and power supply systems of Russian aircraft. In this way, Russia is attempting to mitigate the impact of international sanctions that have restricted the supply of high-tech components.

"Fiolent" is included in the list of enterprises that directly collaborate with Russian defense-industrial structures. Its products are used not only in aviation but also in maritime and industrial systems.

The Ukrainian authorities emphasize that the use of occupied facilities for military-industrial purposes violates international law and serves as evidence of Russia’s economic exploitation of Crimea.
