In social media, a post has been published accusing two employees of the Pryluky District Police Department in Chernihiv Region of racketeering under the guise of fulfilling mobilization tasks.
The author of the post claims that the police officers allegedly demand money from men of conscription age, threatening to take them to the Territorial Recruitment Center. According to him, the scheme is simple: the officers stop men of conscription age, inform them that they are «wanted by the TRC». They then pressure them, demanding cash, and threaten that in case of «refusal», they will take the person to the TRC allegedly on the grounds of «being wanted as a draft dodger».
The fee is set at 400 US dollars. After the money is paid, the «dodger» is released, but the story does not end there – since the town is small, the extortions become regular – according to the victims, the police officers simply pass on the data of those who paid to their colleagues, and they «catch» them on the streets of the city by other police officers.
The author of the post also shared photos of the police officers accused of racketeering. The identities of these two individuals (a man and a woman in police uniforms in the photo) have not yet been established, but in the comments, Pryluky residents claim that this pair indeed works in the police.
In the comments to the post, local residents confirm that such stories are not isolated. People write about systematic «raids» by the police, who allegedly act in collusion with certain military recruitment office employees. «They call, show up, intimidate, and hint: either resolve the issue, or tomorrow you’ll be sent to the recruitment office», — users quote the words of one of the victims.
There are no official comments from the Pryluky District Police Department at this time. The regional police leadership has not commented on the situation as of the publication of this news. If the information is confirmed, it points to a serious criminal offense — abuse of power and extortion committed by officials during martial law. The local community demands an investigation by the Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Chernihiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
The scandal has sparked a wave of outrage in the region: residents demand a public response and accountability for those responsible. People say they can no longer remain silent — because those who are supposed to protect have themselves become a threat. They also recall the fact that in March 2022, when Pryluky was surrounded by Russian forces, almost the entire staff of the local police disappeared in an unknown direction and only returned to their posts after the occupiers were driven out of the region.
