Death of Roman Sopin after detention by TRC: Prosecutor’s Office reports initial autopsy results


People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko from "European Solidarity" received an official response from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defence regarding the circumstances of Roman Sopin’s death. This is a man who died after being detained by employees of the Podil Territorial Recruitment Center in Kyiv.

The parliamentarian reported this on his Telegram channel, publishing copies of official documents, writes Informator.

"The prosecutor’s office states that the man allegedly lost consciousness, fell, and hit his head. An ambulance was called for him, but the next day he passed away," Honcharenko noted.

The prosecutor’s response states that a forensic medical examination revealed a closed traumatic brain injury, a skull fracture, and a brain hemorrhage. Investigators also do not rule out the possibility that the man may have had a stroke before falling. The final cause of death has not yet been determined - additional examinations have been ordered.

According to the prosecutor’s office, these circumstances are confirmed by the explanations of the military personnel of the unit where Sopin was taken. The investigation is ongoing, and no suspicions have been announced to anyone at this time.

"I continue to keep this case under control. All circumstances of Roman Sopin’s death must be clarified, and the guilty must be punished. This chaos with the Territorial Recruitment Centers has to end," the deputy emphasized.
