The defense of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad continues.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army (UVA), Serhiy Bratchuk.
"There are some good actions by our forces north of Pokrovsk; an operation by our special forces is underway. It was the airborne operation that made it possible to report that we managed to clear several positions of Russian occupiers," he said.
According to the UVA spokesperson, the situation there is not just difficult, but "critically difficult."
"I am confident that we will not see the ’horsemen of the apocalypse,’ even if the worst-case scenario regarding the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration is realized. I also assume a conditionally neutral scenario, where the situation does not change drastically – the enemy will try to advance further, accumulating their logistics. The enemy’s logistics have started working, and this is an unpleasant moment because it means an increase in the resource capacity of the Russian army," Bratchuk continued.
He also mentioned that many "gray zones" have formed in Pokrovsk. These areas are not under the control of either side.
"Pokrovsk has not fallen, is not falling, and the defensive operation continues. We understand that the enemy is concentrating enormous forces on the Donetsk region, but our defensive operations today also have certain results in those locations that may give us a chance to advance and reclaim meters or kilometers of Ukrainian land. And this will provide an opportunity to divert Russian forces from the Donetsk direction, which remains a priority for the enemy," the spokesperson noted.
