According to the investigation, in Mykolaiv, a design engineer secretly copied and tried to pass on to foreign intelligence services technical documentation about Ukrainian shipbuilding developments.
The defendant tried to leak the data to two “clients” – a Russian who worked at one of the machine-building plants, and an Iranian who had previously been convicted of espionage in Ukraine. The offenders were trying to find information to set up mass production of their own components for warships.
The defendant is currently detained and faces life imprisonment.
