Europe should stop whinging about Trump and focus on Ukraine – Rutte
Europe should stop whining about United States of America (USA) presidential candidate Donald Trump and focus on what it can do for Ukraine.
This was stated by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte during the Munich Security Conference, quoted by Reuters .
As the publication recalls, Trump caused outrage in Europe after declaring that, if re-elected as president, he would not defend NATO allies who do not spend enough money on defense.
"We have to stop moaning, complaining and whining about Trump. It’s up to the Americans. I’m not an American, I can’t vote in the USA. We have to work with whoever is on the dance floor," Rutte said.
He added that Europe should, in any case, spend more on defense and increase production of ammunition, and not just because Trump may again take the presidency of the United States. In particular, he noted the importance of supporting Ukraine, since this is also in the interests of Europe.
