The new head of Kyivmiskbud is linked to his predecessor’s "construction empire"

The new head of the company "Kyivmiskbud", which is 80% owned by the Kyiv community and is one of the largest developers in the country, is associated with the business empire of his predecessor Ihor Kushnir.

On February 9, Vasyl Oliynyk became the president of "Kyivmiskbud".

The change in leadership took place following a series of last year’s scandals surrounding the company’s previous head Ihor Kushnir. At the beginning of 2023, Kushnir announced a halt at the company’s construction sites due to a shortage of funds. In the summer, journalists from Bihus.Info reported on the wealth and business of Kushnir’s family, which grew rapidly during his tenure at the company, about the purchase of a villa in France worth approximately 20 million euros, and about possible abuses within "Kyivmiskbud".

Following this, at the instruction of Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko, an audit began in the company, and Kushnir himself submitted a resignation letter at the end of the year.

However, according to journalists, the change in leadership may be a formality, as in recent years Oliynyk, as a general contractor, worked on projects of the company Stolitsa Group, which is associated with the renowned Kyiv developer Vladyslava Molchanova. Molchanova, in turn, is a business partner of Ihor Kushnir’s family. It turns out that Molchanova and Kushnir’s daughter Daria are among the ultimate beneficiaries of the British company Alliance 1903 LTD, registered in London at the end of 2022. According to the British register, this firm is also engaged in developer activities.

Additionally, earlier journalists claimed that Molchanova, along with Kushnir and member of parliament Vadym Stolar, were the real beneficiaries of the private company bUd Development, associated with "Kyivmiskbud".
