UAV strike battalion commander explains why occupants seek to capture Chasiv Yar

The Russians are focusing their efforts on recapturing the positions liberated by the Defence Forces in Donetsk region, with a view to occupying the town of Chasiv Yar. This settlement is a "dominant height" of strategic importance.

Having captured Chasiv Yar, the enemy will be able to fire on Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka and Kramatorsk. This was stated by the commander of the 92nd Air Assault Brigade’s UAV battalion, Yuriy Fedorenko, on Kyiv 24 TV channel.

The Kremlin has ordered the occupation forces to recapture the previously lost positions in Donetsk region. The invaders are also preparing to attempt to occupy Chasiv Yar.

"The enemy has a clear task to regain the lost positions that were de-occupied by the Ukrainian Defence Forces. They are also preparing for the further occupation of Chasiv Yar," said Fedorenko.

This city, he emphasized, is of strategic importance.

"Why is Chasiv Yar strategically important? Because it is a ’dominant height’. If this town is occupied, enemy guns will be able to fire on Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka and Kramatorsk. Accordingly, it is a foothold that the enemy will be able to use to develop attack and assault operations," Fedorenko stressed.
