On 1 March, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte signed a bilateral agreement on security cooperation.
The Office of the President informed about this.
According to Zelenskyy, the agreement provides for the Netherlands to provide 2 billion euros in military assistance in 2024 and subsequent defense assistance over the next ten years.
The document defines the priorities for providing assistance in the field of air defense, artillery, naval and long-range weapons with a special emphasis on strengthening the Air Force, the head of state added.
“The agreement formalizes the principled position of the Netherlands to tighten sanctions against Russia, force it to compensate for damages and hold the aggressor accountable. According to the document, the Netherlands also supports Ukraine’s future membership in the EU and NATO,” Zelenskyy wrote on social networks.
The document also defines a mechanism for a 24-hour emergency response in case of repeated military aggression against Ukraine.
