In Germany, Ukrainian refugees write that they are having problems entering the EU.

The reason is that on March 4, all Ukrainians living in Germany will have their plastic document with a residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel) expiring.

German authorities previously extended its validity for another year, but without issuing a new “plastic” - stating that the current document will also be valid.

But Ukrainians write on social networks that they started having difficulties when entering Germany and the EU. Border guards began to demand evidence that refugees have the right to continue staying in Germany.

“Yesterday, a friend in Istanbul was not allowed on a plane to Munich because of expired plastic with such a piece of paper,” said one of the users.

Another reports that at Frankfurt airport, after arriving in Germany, employees demanded proof that the residence permit did not need to be extended.

“The employees here are not aware at all that our residence permit has been extended... They sorted it out for a long time, marinated for about 20 minutes, but they let us in,” writes another woman.

According to her, there were also problems when boarding the plane at the departure point.

Also, other users write, problems arise on the Polish-German border.

“Now I’m faced with this situation. I’m traveling from Poland by bus to Germany and the EU. At the border there is a checkpoint, police officers enter the bus and check my passports. I had my passport until March 4th, there were a lot of questions, I even had to show the contract for an apartment. But they let us through, so keep in mind, they are checking everything,” the Ukrainian woman wrote.

They also say that Polish border guards have started asking questions when entering from Ukraine. According to the Ukrainians, they say that “they have not heard anything about any automatic extension.”
