Search work continues in Sumy: a man’s body was pulled out from under the rubble of a house

On the morning of Thursday, March 14, search work was resumed in Sumy at the site where a Russian kamikaze drone hit a high-rise building the night before. After several hours of searching, rescuers recovered the man’s body from the rubble.

Thus, the number of victims of the enemy attack increased to three, and 14 residents were also injured. There may still be people under the ruins, Oleh Strilko, a representative of the State Emergency Service in the region, told Public in a commentary.

“Since six in the morning, all work has been resumed - engineering and heavy equipment are on site. Rescuers continue to clear up the destruction again. There is information that there may be people under the rubble,” he noted.

Over time, another victim was pulled out from under the rubble. At first, journalists from the scene reported that it was a girl, but later clarified that the third victim was a man.

“Yesterday at about 20:00 the work was temporarily suspended, but our fire fighting equipment remained, because there was a threat of reoccurrence of fires. When something caught fire, we eliminated it,” added Oleh Strilko.
