On Thursday, 4 April, the external overhead line of the Zaporizhzhya TPP-Ferrosplavna 330kV overhead line was disconnected due to Russian shelling. Through it, the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP received power from the Ukrainian power system to meet its own needs.
Energoatom reports this on Telegram.
“Currently, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant is connected to the Ukrainian energy system only via the 750 kV Dniprovska power transmission line, the operation of which was recently restored by Ukrainian power engineers,” the statement says.
It is noted that this once again threatens the onset of an emergency situation at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP, because “if this last communication line with the domestic power grid is disconnected, the station will be on the verge of another blackout, which is a serious violation of the conditions for the safe operation of the station.”
In addition, Energoatom stated that ZNPP must immediately come under the full control of Ukraine, its legal operator, Energoatom. In addition, Russia must withdraw its military and military equipment from the station.
