Budanov: Ukraine will face a “difficult situation” and “problems” from May

The head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that Ukraine will face a "difficult situation" and "problems" from May.

“We are facing a rather difficult situation, in our opinion, in the near future. But it is not catastrophic, this also needs to be understood. Armageddon will not happen, as many are now starting to say. But there will be problems from mid-May,” said the head of military intelligence of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to him, “the Russians will use an integrated approach.” “This will be a difficult period. Mid-May, early June,” he added.

Budanov clarified that this is not only about the front (where, as the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate previously stated, the Russians are preparing a major offensive in the Donbas), but also about the internal political situation.

He probably means that Zelenskyy’s presidential powers were supposed to expire on May 20, according to the Constitution. But since the elections were cancelled, the current president will continue to hold office.
