Ukraine approves of the idea of the NATO Secretary General to create an Alliance special fund in the amount of 100 billion euros to support Ukrainian defence, but is interested in the details of the functioning of such a fund.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a meeting with the NATO Secretary General in Kyiv.
Zelenskyy said that he and Jens Stoltenberg in Kyiv discussed, among other things, the Secretary General’s idea of creating a special NATO fund to support Ukraine in the amount of 100 billion euros* for a period of 5 years (note that earlier the amount was stated in US dollars - Ed.).
“The allies really have the opportunity to implement such an initiative. The details are very important for us. It is important that this is not at the expense of the bilateral volumes noted in our agreements on security guarantees,” Zelenskyy noted.
