Britain will transfer the largest package of military aid to Ukraine

The UK today, May 11, announced the provision of the largest military aid package in history to Ukraine.

This was reported by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence.

In addition to £500 million in military funding, the UK is providing vital equipment:

• 4 million ammunition;
• More than 1600 missiles (the type of missiles is not specified);
• 400 vehicles, including 160 Huskys.

 

What is known about Husky cars

For the first time, the fact that Ukraine received Husky Tactical Support Vehicle (TSV) armored vehicles from Britain became known in the summer of 2022. The exact number is unknown.

The Husky TSV is a highly mobile, all-wheel drive tactical support vehicle that was introduced in 2006. It is based on the International MXT cargo chassis from Navistar Defence.

The purpose of the Husky is to protect personnel from small arms fire and mines while performing area patrol missions. It is produced in three modifications - an SUV for patrolling, an ambulance and a command and control vehicle.

The armored car has a length of 6.4 m, a height of 2.5 m, a width of 2.4 m, and a weight of about 7 tons. The crew is four people, including the driver and commander. The vehicle has a 12.7 mm universal machine gun.
