NATO will increase its role in the process of Ukraine’s integration into the North Atlantic Alliance, which in the future will lead to its full accession.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced this while speaking at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
"When we host the Washington Summit in July, we will take tangible steps to enhance NATO’s role in building resilient, capable Ukrainian forces while supporting ongoing reforms that integrate Ukraine into the alliance," Blinken said.
He stressed that all these measures will ensure Ukraine’s accession to NATO, and the process itself should be fast and smooth.
The Secretary of State added that this would still require meeting the conditions for entry, and NATO member countries themselves would have to agree to it.
