All thermal power plants in Ukraine are damaged or destroyed, their share in energy production has decreased to 5%, - Ukrenergo.

The operator of the Ukrainian energy system, Ukrenergo, reported that at the moment absolutely all thermal power plants in the country are damaged to one degree or another or completely destroyed. Their share of electricity production is reported to have dropped to 5%.

The statement said that two hydroelectric power stations were also out of action, as for nuclear power plants, they are working, but in the summer many units are undergoing repairs.

Ukrenergo noted that imports can only partially cover the electricity shortage, and it is impossible to restore all generating capacity before winter. In this regard, users were urged to be prepared for restrictions in electricity consumption; they “will remain a part of life for a long time due to large losses.”
