
In Kharkiv, four more civilians may be under the rubble of a five-story building after Russian shelling. Four victims are known, about 25 people were injured.
Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on his Telegram channel that on the morning of May 31, rescuers discovered the body of the fourth deceased (previously, three were known to have been killed). “Russian attacks on civilians are terrorism in its purest form,” the mayor emphasized.
The head of the Investigation Department of the MDNP in the Kharkiv region, Serhiy Bolvinov, clarified on Facebook : the fourth victim is a 29-year-old man who lived on the fifth floor.
Among the victims were a medical worker and a police officer who arrived at the scene of the explosion, as well as two young children (a boy and a girl of 12 years old).
A video was published online of an elderly man whose wife and daughter were left in one of the destroyed apartments. According to social networks, the grandfather’s name is Vyacheslav Vlasenko, he is 63 years old. The Kharkiv resident was at work and arrived at his home after arriving.
Eyewitnesses said that the man tried to call his family, but he was unable to do so. “Svetlana, pick up the phone,” he repeated.
