The President’s Office confirmed Zelenskyy’s participation in the G7 summit

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in the G7 summit in Italy, which will be held on June 13-15.

This was stated by presidential speaker Serhiy Nykyforov, who was quoted by Suspilne.

According to the speaker, Zelenskyy will take part either online or in person.

“This is without a doubt. The G7 are our main partners. We will talk with them about the key topics of our relations, including dialogues in bilateral formats with the G7 states,” Nykyforov said.

He added that from the United States, which will participate in the summit, Zelenskyy intends to discuss further increases in defence support, the development of a coalition of Western fighters and steps to speed up deliveries of F-16s.

Also, one of the key topics will be strengthening Ukrainian air defense with additional systems and missiles for them.

According to Nykyforov, this was also the subject of discussion between Zelenskyy and US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin at the Shangri-La conference in Singapore.

“This topic was the main one. Now active work is underway to ensure that air defense systems arrive in Ukraine. We expect positive public decisions in the near future,” he said.
