President Zelenskyy reacted to Putin’s words about his alleged “illegitimacy”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to Russian ruler Vladimir Putin’s words about the alleged "illegitimacy" of the Ukrainian president by saying that only Putin recognises Putin’s legitimacy, while in Ukraine the people elect the president.

Zelenskyy during a joint approach to the press with French President Emmanuel Macron:

“The legitimacy of President Zelenskyy is recognized exclusively by the people of Ukraine. The people of Ukraine choose, and I am very grateful for the support. Our people are free. To be honest, this is what we are fighting for.

The legitimacy of “comrade” Putin is recognized exclusively by “comrade” Putin. And Putin chooses – Putin. The Russian people are a stage set, and they only have one actor.”

Russian ruler Vladimir Putin said he assumed that the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had “ended.”

Subsequently, Putin said that “according to preliminary assessment, the only legitimate government in Ukraine remains the parliament and the speaker of the Rada.”
