High Anti-Corruption Court upholds arrest in absentia for Andriy Hmyrin
The HACS appeal left unchanged the arrest in absentia for the “ex-supervisor” of fiscal services (BES, State Fiscal Service) Andriy Hmyrin in the corruption case of the State Property Fund.
This decision opens the way for the search for the suspect with the help of Interpol and his future extradition.
Andriy Hmyrin, known for his influence in the fiscal structures of Ukraine, was accused of numerous corruption schemes that caused significant damage to the state budget.
He is suspected of stealing 390 million UAH. "Odesa Port Plant", as well as legalization of more than 10 billion UAH.
After fleeing the country, he evaded justice, making it difficult to investigate and bring him to justice.
