Night attack of the invaders: air defence forces shot down 29 out of 30 air targets

On the night of June 12, Russian troops launched a combined missile and drone attack. They launched 30 missiles and suicide bombs across our country.

Air defense forces shot down 29 enemy air weapons. The commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk spoke about this.

He noted that at night the invaders launched a missile and air strike on Ukraine, using air- and ground-based missiles, as well as attack UAVs. In total, 30 enemy air attack weapons flew towards peaceful Ukrainian cities and villages, in particular:

• 4 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aviation aircraft (launch area - Saratov region - Russian Federation);
• one Iskander-M ballistic missile (from Crimea);
• one aeroballistic missile X-47M2 "Dagger" (from the airspace of the Tambov region - Russian Federation);
• 24 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type (launch area - Yeisk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - Russian Federation).

Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare equipment of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the enemy air attack.

“As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 29 air targets were shot down: 1 X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile; 4 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles; 24 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type,” Oleschuk noted.

Air defence worked in the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Poltava, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia regions.
