In Kyiv, an outbreak of acute intestinal infection was discovered in 14 children who arrived at one of the city’s hotels. All of them are hospitalized.
This was reported on Facebook by the Main Directorate of the State Food and Consumer Service in Kyiv.
As reported, on June 14, the department received a letter from the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention about the registration of 14 cases of acute intestinal infection among children who arrived at one of the hotels in Kyyiv. All sick children were hospitalized.
The State Consumer Enterprise noted that an unscheduled measure of state supervision (control) of the capacity carrying out the circulation of food products at a business entity, which is likely associated with an outbreak of acute respiratory infections, has been launched, with the selection of samples of raw materials for laboratory research, water samples, environmental washouts, bacteriological examination of personnel at carriage of intestinal infections
During the inspection at the power plant, violations of food legislation were revealed. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
“All necessary measures have been taken to localize, eliminate the outbreak and prevent further spread of the infection, which poses a threat to health. Decisions have been prepared on the temporary cessation of production and/or circulation of food products, and an order to eliminate violations of the requirements of food legislation,” the State Food and Consumer Service added.
