SSU detained one of the main tax officers in Kyiv for taking a bribe

The acting deputy head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv demanded bribes from Kyiv businessmen through an intermediary. Both face up to 10 years in prison.

The SSU reports this.

Law enforcement officers documented how a tax official received bribes from the director of a Kyiv company that is engaged in the wholesale trade of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels.

In exchange for a monetary reward, the official promised the entrepreneur to provide licenses to sell fuel.

The official hired an acquaintance to communicate with the head of the company and transfer the bribe.

The security service documented the official’s receipt of the first part of the bribe and detained him along with the intermediary during the transfer of the second "tranche."

Both detainees were declared suspicious under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or extraction of unlawful benefits by an official).

The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided. Investigative actions are being carried out to identify and bring to justice all those responsible.

The perpetrators face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
