The profile of People’s Deputy Maryana Bezuhla, who is the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, has appeared in the Myrotvorets database.

As indicated in the profile, Bezuhla is included in the database for deliberate public actions aimed at discrediting government bodies of Ukraine, discrediting, demoralizing and obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, splitting civil society, disseminating information containing state secrets and used by Russia in the information war against Ukraine.

It is also indicated that since 2022, Bezuhla has been the most quoted Ukrainian politician by Russian propagandists. For example, enemy media and telegram channels actively use her critical statements regarding the military command of Ukraine, “record losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” and the command’s alleged readiness to sign “any variation of the surrender of Ukraine.”

During 2023, many polls with rather provocative questions that the people’s deputy published on her Facebook quickly appeared in Russian media and telegram channels. For example, Bezuhla asked whether her subscribers wished death for people’s deputies, whether people wanted people’s deputies to be in prison or for them to go to the front. She also asked subscribers whether they were ready to renounce citizenship so that they would not be mobilized for rear positions and defense enterprises, and also proposed introducing mandatory mobilization of women.

On July 15, Bezuhla was recalled from her post as head of the Council’s subcommittee on democratic civilian control.

As previously reported, Bezuhla entered the top 5 Ukrainian public figures who are most often quoted by Russian propaganda. The rating was compiled by the research and analytical group InfoLight.UA.

Bezuhla became known to the general public at the end of 2023, when she began a discrediting campaign against the then commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. Now she also criticizes the current commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky, whom she assessed positively before his appointment.

The deputy systematically discredits the institutions that Ukrainian society trusts most: the Armed Forces, military command, volunteers, independent media. Moreover, information operations coincide in time with the intensification of the actions of the occupying army of the Russian Federation. In the Verkhovna Rada, Bezuglaya was remembered for a bill that proposed allowing commanders to use firearms on subordinates, as well as a project that would introduce life imprisonment for “appropriation of state functions.”

In the 2019 elections, it was the godfather of the traitor Viktor Medvedchuk, Andriy Kholodov, who is called the “tobacco oligarch,” who proposed including Bezuhla on the list of the Servant of the People party.
