Budanov: The defeat of Russian bombers at the Olenya base delayed the shelling of Ukraine

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence, Kyrylo Budanov, stated this on Telegram .

According to him, the task of the maximum aggressor state remains to gain control over Ukraine by any means.

“The minimum task, and so far the only one, is to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. It has never changed,” Budanov noted.

According to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Russians’ attempt to create a so-called buffer zone in the Kharkiv region failed, and their stay in the temporarily occupied territory remains a matter of time.

“The defeat of Russian bombers at the Olenya base forced us to delay the next massive strikes on us at least for a few days,” Budanov noted.
