Ukrenergo reported whether power will be cut off on Sunday

In Ukraine, power cuts will not apply on August 4. The situation in the energy system has stabilized.

This is stated in a message from Ukrenergo. “Tomorrow, August 4, shutdowns will not apply. If the situation changes, further restrictions will be announced. If possible, use powerful electrical appliances from 11:00 to 15:00,” the message says.

Are the light problems over?

No, in fact, the situation has stabilized for a while. In the last days of July, Ukrenergo did not apply shutdown schedules, and the volume of the deficit decreased significantly due to the repair of power units and a reduction in consumption. The good news is that the situation will probably only get better in the near future.

The head of the board of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, said at the Ukrainian Media Center that he expects the situation to improve in the next few weeks. "If there are no further large-scale damage to power plants, the situation will tend to improve, at least in the next few weeks," he said.

At the same time, the deputy head of the supervisory board of NEC Ukrenergo, Yuriy Boyko, noted that power engineers back in May expected the situation to improve after the air temperature dropped. The abnormal heat is already behind us, so the situation has truly stabilized. At the same time, Boyko is more optimistic: shutdowns can be avoided for three months.
