Ministry of Energy: Ukraine will return to blackout schedules

Energy experts believe that it is not yet correct to make predictions about a return to the blackout schedule. In particular, and due to the impossibility of predicting whether the heat will return.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk.

He noted that abnormal heat is one of the factors that increases electricity consumption and affects the stability of the energy system. This trend was observed in Ukraine in July.

“Giving such forecasts (about returning to the schedules - ed.) today is incorrect, because we understand how long this heat will be, whether it will cover the whole of Ukraine or territorially, taking into account whether this is the temperature at lunchtime or separately,” - said the Deputy Minister of Energy.

Kolisnyk added that electricity consumption remains an important factor for energy workers. Therefore, Ukrainians are systematically encouraged to consume light sparingly, in particular during peak hours – from 07:00 to 11:00 and from 17:00 to 22:00.

“This allows us to balance the energy system. Therefore, we urge you to consume responsibly, and energy workers, for their part, are doing everything possible 24/7 to ensure that the system operates in a stable mode,” he emphasized.
