The video hosting site RuTube, which Russian authorities are promoting as a replacement for YouTube, has disappeared from the App Store.
Radio Liberty reports this, citing the RuTube Telegram channel.
“This (removal from the App Store, – Ed.) was a consequence of sanctions from the American company, as a result of which it was difficult for users to access our services through a mobile application,” the video hosting service of the aggressor country said in a statement.
Since the beginning of August, Russian users have been experiencing massive interruptions in YouTube: without VPN services, videos load slowly or do not load at all.
As reported, on August 8, thousands of users in Russia complained that the YouTube video service stopped opening.
