Russian army tried to storm Novohrodivka in Donetsk region, - military
On the night of August 16, the Russian army attempted to storm the city of Novohrodivka in the Donetsk region in the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy is trying to use all possible forces.
This was reported by Serhiy Tsekhotskyi, an officer of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handzyuk, to Suspilne. According to him, the occupiers are even more actively storming the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.
"The enemy, in its final convulsions, is trying to throw everything it can. Practically, attempts at assaults and active advancement do not stop for a minute, the fighting continues around the clock," said Tsekhotskyi.
He added that over the past 24 hours, Russian invaders stormed Novohrodivka.
"We are watching. They are regrouping on equipment and preparing for an assault again. This is the area of the settlement of Krasnohorivka. Late last night there was an attempt to storm the settlement of Novohrodivka. These are settlements where children were recently playing in the park," the defender said.
According to the officer, in this way the enemy is trying to achieve at least some success against the backdrop of the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region.
"They are throwing in all their reserves. They are throwing in everything they have. Each attack of theirs brings them great losses, so they are throwing in everything they have. So far, we have not noticed the use of armored vehicles, but they are preparing for this. And we are preparing for this. Against the backdrop of the events in the Kursk region, they are trying to do everything to have success at least somewhere. The attacks are happening, the situation is under control," said Serhiy Tsekhotskyi.
